KBIS 2014: Great Lake Woods Earns Chain of Custody Certification

HOLLAND, MI – Great Lake Woods, Inc. announced that it has earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certification from Scientific Certification Systems, one of the world’s leading FSC certifiers and one of FSC’s founding members. FSC provides third-party certification confirming that materials sold as FSC certified are harvested from well-managed forest operations.

Great Lake Woods, Inc. underwent an audit assessment of its systems and performance against FSC Chain of Custody standards, conducted by Scientific Certification Systems. The manufacturer currently holds FSC certification in the categories of furniture and furniture parts, in species cherry, maple, red oak, white oak and walnut. Additional species of wood are expected to be added to the company’s FSC certificate by spring 2014. The FSC certification will help the company meet product demands for FSC certified wood set by current customers and the expanding market for FSC certified products.
