JET 14-inch Steel Frame Bandsaw Amped Up With 3hp Motor

LaVergne, TN – JET® is back with another excellent addition to their bandsaw line. The new 14” 3HP Steel Frame Bandsaw takes the rugged, durable, steel frame design and amps it up with a 3 horsepower motor. This bandsaw features a full 13½” of resaw height, as well as 13½” of blade-to-frame cutting width, along with a fully adjustable fence, tool-less blade guide adjustment and heavy-duty blade tensioning with quick release. This versatile bandsaw is the perfect blend of performance and features.

JET 14-inch Steel Frame Bandsaw Amped Up With 3hp Motor“We are excited to introduce this addition to our line for the woodworkers who love the current JET steel frame design, but might need a little more horsepower,” said Joan Duvall, JET’s Director of Product Management - Wood.

This floor-standing bandsaw weighs 360 lbs. Its steel frame and wide base provide rigidity for smooth, stable operation and accurate cutting. The saw’s overall dimensions are 30”L x 26”W x 74-1/2”H.

This 14” bandsaw is driven by a 3HP, single-phase, 230V motor. Power is transmitted to the drive pulley system via a durable poly-V belt, delivering a blade speed of 3000 SFPM.

The bandsaw’s 21½” x 16” cast iron table is set at 39” from the floor, and is precisely ground to assure flatness. The table tilts 0-45o to the right and 0-10o left, providing support for a wide range of bevel cuts. A cast iron handwheel and large, easy-to-read scale are used to set the desired table angle. A standard miter slot is provided to accommodate a miter gauge (optional accessory), as well as jigs and fixtures for specific projects.

An extruded aluminum fence measures 18-1/4”L x 6”H and slides on a steel guide rail. The two-position fence can be used flat for inlays and furring strips or upright for crown molding and other materials. The fence is fully adjustable with a laser-etched scale and micro-adjust feature.

Cast iron, nine-spoke, upper and lower blade wheels are precisely machined and computer balanced to reduce vibration and ensure accurate blade tracking. They feature shallow crowns and polyurethane tires. The wheels accommodate 125”-long blades, ranging from 1/8” to 3/4” wide.

The JET 14” bandsaw enables precise blade tension adjustments by turning a handwheel and setting a tensioning scale. A handy blade tension release is included for making blade changes and relaxing the blade when not in use. The blade can be easily removed from the front of the table.

A heavy-duty guide post with rack-and-pinion adjustment provides solid blade support. Upper and lower, ball-bearing blade guides are independently adjustable and tool-free. The saw also is equipped with four-sided blade guards.

Two 4”-diameter dust ports are located on the back of the bandsaw below the table and at the base. They connect with a dust collection system and require a minimum capacity of 400 CFM.

The JET 14” 3HP Steel Frame Bandsaw is covered by a 5-year warranty, as well as JET’s RED AssuranceTM, the industry’s most dependable service and support guarantee program.
