PITTSBURGH, PA - Power tools can cost hundreds of dollars, so precautions must be taken to keep them from being stolen. To this end, an inventor from Phoenix, Ariz., developed the patent-pending PORTABLE POWERTOOL ANTITHEFT DEVICE.
The unit prevents the theft of corded power tools. It stands guard for up to four corded power tools and related equipment. The device takes relatively little space in a work vehicle or at a job site. It is usable with compressors, portable table saws, small welding outfits and the like. The invention could be set up in a matter of seconds. Additionally, it offers added peace of mind when leaving tools unattended.
The inventor's professional experience inspired the idea.
"I was on a job site and had to walk inside and leave the tools outside where I was working," he said. "I thought that if someone drove up, they could easily steal my very expensive tools without me even knowing."
The original design was submitted to the Phoenix office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
