What first captured the imagination over 80 years ago as the “motorhome”, still holds fascination for all generations and all around the globe: RVs and mobile homes are in greater demand than ever before.

Manufactured of premium plastic, Cara-Snap is a flexible catch lock that can be installed for flaps and drawers in wall and base units. Not only can it be screwed onto the unit with ease, it also allows itself to be combined with any type of furniture handle. On top of that, Häfele carries a line of furniture handles of its own design and manufacture to complement the Cara-Snap product. What more could you want to fulfil the most exacting design wishes with this new locking method? Thanks to a concealed mechanism, the intuitive locking system is simply activated via the handle, with no additional tilting, turning or pushing. Regardless of the hole centres, Cara-Snap systems can be mounted on 13, 16 and 19 mm thick wood doors.

The new stay flap hinge that Häfele presented at interzum is designed for flap weights of up to 1.4 kg and features an integrated soft close.

It is easy to work with, since no boss drilling is necessary, and it doesn’t even require a separate lid stay. Vertical and lateral adjustments are effected via the slotted holes in the hinge base plate.

A look into the RV future: design studies

“Thinking Ahead” is the motto Häfele lives by, and that applies to the RV sector as well. At its trade fair booth, it offered a look at further developments that designers have currently come up with. Among them were design studies of a new “Push Lock” system with a square rose, as well as push buttons and special furniture handles. In terms of design, these were specifically matched to the RV interior completion, and lend a first impression of how the “vacation home on wheels” might look like in the future.
