EMERYVILLE, CA -- SCS Global Services, a global leader in third-party environmental and sustainability certification, is pleased to announce that Stanley Mathuram, P.E., has joined the company to head up its furniture industry certification services. Mathuram comes with extensive expertise in the green building industry.

Stanley's ability to create a culture of transparency, teamwork, and communication will improve project delivery and client satisfaction."

Mathuram is based in Grand Rapids, MI, one of the major U.S. furniture manufacturing hubs. In his new role at SCS, Mr. Mathuram oversees the operations of furniture-industry focused certifications and assessments, such as SCS' Indoor Advantage Gold, the indoor air quality standard for a wide range of green building products, and BIFMA level, the multi-attribute, sustainability certification program for the furniture industry. In addition, he will help companies seeking life-cycle assessment services through SCS to support Environmental Product Declarations and Environmentally Preferable Product claims.

Before joining SCS, Mathuram worked for companies such as Michigan Steel, Inc., AECOM, The Mannik & Smith group, Inc., and DLZ Corporation. As a consultant, he prepared furniture manufacturers for certification to BIFMA level, and helped guide businesses in the development of Triple Bottom Line and corporate social responsibility strategies, principles of lean manufacturing, renewable energy contract development, environmental compliance, and remedial design. Mr. Mathuram has an MS in Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli.
