GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids Chair Company, a Michigan-based manufacturer of commercial and hospitality furniture, introduces Andy, a new wood seating and table collections at NeoCon 2014. In collaboration with world-renowned, Midwest-based designers Paul James, the company will debut Andy at its Merchandise Mart showroom in Chicago. This collection embodies the new, modern direction of the Grand Rapids Chair™ portfolio.
The Andy collection by Paul James features mid-century-inspired lines and a spacious, laid-back silhouette that perfectly satisfy modern comfort preferences. The tapered legs, streamlined angles, exposed wood grain and gentle recline are a nod to a time when people knew how to slow down and enjoy a scotch on the rocks.
Constructed on a solid wood frame, with near infinite upholstery and customization options, the collection includes a side chair, arm chair, barstool and backless barstool as well as a full line of dining-height and bar-height tables.
“These chairs are inspired by classic Danish design,” says James. “There is nothing extraneous or contrived about them. Everything works together – form, materials, and fabrication – to express beauty and comfort.
”“More than ever, we live in a design-savvy culture – and a new generation of restaurant-goers is demanding more visually interesting spaces. Sadie and Andy represent our initial response to interior design customers asking us for more modern, design-oriented seating solutions,” says Jill Frey, Director of Marketing. The Andy collection will be manufactured in the United States at the company’s new production facility in Byron Center, MI. Andy will be on display in suite 394 of The Merchandise Mart during NeoCon 2014, June 9-11 in Chicago, and will be available for order in late summer 2014
