NEW LONDON, NC – Fiberon, manufacturer of composite and PVD decking, railing and fencing, is proud to announce their key sponsorship in the 2012 Katz Roadshow, providing educational clinics for leading progressive lumberyards. Fiberon composite decking will be featured in sixteen hands-on training clinics that equip professionals with valuable skills needed in the construction industry. As a key sponsor, Fiberon is participating in twelve Frame to Finish Clinics with Mike Sloggatt and four Sustainable Building Clinics with Rick Arnold to be held between March 7–Oct. 26, 2012.

“It is important to us to reach out to remodelers and deck builders to both teach and learn the latest installation techniques with composite decking materials,” says Edie Kello, director of Marketing Communications with Fiberon. “The Katz Roadshow is a unique and strategic partnership of leading manufacturers and installation specialists, and we are thrilled to be supporting these important industry events.”

The Frame to Finish Carpentry Clinics will feature a segment on High-end Decking and cover a variety of decking topics including structure of ledgers, flashing and framing, improved deck design, weather resistant design details and borders, and inlays and durable joinery. Additional segments covered in the Frame to Finish Clinics include: waterproof windows and doors, water management and elliptical porticos.

“New technologies continue to create revolutionary products in the construction industry, often requiring specialized installation tools and techniques,” says Mike Sloggatt, a well-regarded instructor for the Frame to Finish Carpentry Clinics. “New building materials create an even greater urgency for education.”

Sustainable Building Clinics will feature a learning segment called Code-compliant Decks and Railing. Techniques highlight ledger connections and flashing details, finish to frame layout, newel post and railing requirements and trim details and solutions. Additional segments include weather resistant exteriors, durable roof details, and sustainable wall systems.
