Fall Version of Tupelo’s Furniture & Home Accessories Show

Tupelo, MS – For the 3rd time, the Tupelo Furniture Market, one of the largest furniture trade shows in the United States, will open one of its buildings to the public. Management again will have one building filled with companies that sell to both furniture retailers and the public. The pricing of furniture and accessories will be exceptional!

“Many business-to-business trade events have exhibiting companies that invite the public,” said Kevin Seddon, president of the Tupelo Furniture Market. “This can sometimes cause concern with other participating companies that have no desire to have the public walking into their showroom space. Our solution was to create an ‘event within our event’ which offers a win-win solution for all our exhibitors, our retailers and the public which has a keen interest in finding great values on furniture and home accessories that they cannot find anywhere else.”

According to Seddon, Building I will once again be open, August 15-18, to the furniture trade, regional business owners and the public but it has grown considerably and they have added a few interesting twists.

“We have had success with our first two iterations of this event and it has grown beyond our expectations,” said Seddon. “All of building I will be filled, showrooms as well as the open grand hall. In addition, we will be raffling away prizes including a fur coat, a 10-carat blue topaz and diamond ring, a $500 shopping spree and much more! On Friday evening, we will hold our “Spirits and Sparkles” event from 5 to 7 p.m. We’ll have wine and spirits, hors d’oeuvres and incredible door prizes! We’ll also have a band on hand to entertain. Finally, on Friday evening during the “Spirits and Sparkles” event as well as all day Saturday, Merle Temple, Author of A Ghostly Shade of Pale, will be signing his incredibly well-received novel!”

The Furniture and Home Accessories Show will house a wide-range of home furniture, appliances, specialty items and accessories at below retail and discounted prices. “This event has allowed many smaller manufacturers and importers to participate in the furniture market,” said Debbie Henry, director of sales for the Tupelo Furniture Market. “They sell to the public to off-set their costs, while attracting long-term relationships with furniture retailers. Many of them have had great success and we feel as if we have helped foster their growth as a business.”

“This, the 3rd version of the Furniture & Home Accessories Show, will not only be larger, but will have far more furniture for sale than previous events” said Candi Hall, the company’s buyer recruitment director. “More than a quarter of the more than 150,000 square foot building has been sold to companies selling furniture. And there are so many new companies selling accessories and other home related products that it is almost overwhelming,” Hall explained.

Hall went on to list many more items that will be available to the public, business owners and retailers that choose to walk into building I, including all types of furniture – even outdoor furniture, home accessories, rugs, frames and framed art, lighting, mattresses, pottery, appliances, electronics, clothing, jewelry, purses, artwork, yard art, lighting and lighting fixtures. Some of the major brands include Hampton Bay, Thomasville, Samsung, Frigidaire, Hotpoint and LG.

The companies chosen to showcase at this event are either in the home furnishings and home accessories sector or they are specialty and niche market companies selling unique home products, art and fashion. This event promises to provide an amazing, one-of-a-kind shopping opportunity for the soccer mom or any mom for that matter. And everything will be offered at a great value!

The Furniture and Home Accessories Show runs from Thursday, August 15 through Sunday, August 18. The Show times are: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 to 6:00 Saturday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
