DANBURY, Conn. - Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. (NYSE: ETH), an interior design company whose success began with the manufacture of Early American-style furnishings, kicked off the celebration of its milestone 80th anniversary this week. On Tuesday, Chairman, President and CEO Farooq Kathwari celebrated with staff and special guests at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Orleans and Beecher Falls, Vermont, the birthplace of Ethan Allen furniture. Yesterday, company executives and guests visited the New York Stock Exchange, where Mr. Kathwari rang the closing bell to honor the momentous occasion.
“Since 1932, the company has found inspiration in the diversity of American style, and we are proud that we still manufacture approximately seventy percent of our products in our North American plants,” said Kathwari. “From small towns to big cities around the world, we continue to find a common thread: No matter where our clients live, they want to create looks that are all their own, and Ethan Allen offers them the tools to do just that.”
Coinciding with Ethan Allen’s 80th anniversary is the company’s latest launch—Ethan Allen American Colors. Inspired by the American landscape, the program will add 15 vibrant new finishes—Sunflower Yellow, Kelly Green, and Geranium Red, to name a few—and approximately 200 eye-catching new fabrics to their existing line. The program will be introduced to the public in October.
At an anniversary reception planned for Tuesday, October 9th, 2012, at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury, Connecticut, Ethan Allen management will celebrate the thousands of skilled craftspeople and interior design professionals who carry on the company’s legacy of fine craftsmanship, superior service, and distinctive design.
In the months ahead, the company will continue to celebrate its milestone anniversary throughout its entire network, including its manufacturing facilities in North Carolina. Ethan Allen Design Centers across the country will offer free Style Workshops to celebrate 80 years of American style and the style journey that draws inspiration from colors found all across the USA.
