End-of-Show Report on ExpoDrev Russia 2014

End-of-Show Report on ExpoDrev Russia 2014Hannover/Krasnoyarsk - ExpoDrev Russia, staged from 9 to 12 September 2014 at the Siberia International Exhibition Business Centre in Krasnojarsk, Russia, proved a complete success. For the first time the trade fair was co-organized by OOO Deutsche Messe RUS, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe (Hannover, Germany) together with the Krasnoyarsk Fair. The event has established itself as the most important trade show in the region for the forestry, wood processing and woodworking industries. The section of the trade show devoted to forestry attracted top-name exhibitors such as Komatsu, Ponsse, John Deere, Stihl and Husqvarna. As a result, the open-air site was fully booked out.

Around 4,000 trade visitors, most of them decision-makers at a senior level, came to the event to obtain information on the latest products and trends. The accompanying congress program “the Siberian Woodworking Forum” attracted particularly keen interest. One of the keynotes of this program was the roundtable discussion on “the investment potential of the timber cluster in the Krasnoyarsk region”. Another popular event was the Bioenergy Day, which took the form of a conference and included an interesting talk by Dr. Ute Seeling, Director of the German Forestry Council (Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forst e.V.), on current trends in Germany and Austria.

Displays by 155 exhibitors filled some 1,760 square meters of space at ExpoDrev Siberia 2014. Germany, represented by 14 countries, accounted for the biggest contingent of exhibitors, followed by Sweden, the Baltic States, Austria, China and Japan.

The next ExpoDrev will take place from 8 to 11 September 2015.
