OAK BROOK, Ill. - Yorktowne Cabinetry, an Elkay Manufacturing Company cabinet brand which has delivered fine semi-custom kitchens to East Coast homeowners for more than a century, is launching a new, Iconic door and two new finishes called Cappuccino and Peppercorn.
Both the door and the finishes were developed in response to shifting trends in consumer tastes. “The Dixon door is timeless and elegant,” said Suzanne DeRusha, Manager, Product Innovation & Design. “Dixon is the perfect balance of traditional and transitional styling.” The door is available in cherry or maple and features a solid wood door frame as well as a solid wood raised center panel.
The finishes also reflect changes in the consumer’s design aesthetic. “Trends are leaning toward the presence of texture, and Yorktowne has embraced this trend through multi-step finishes like Cappuccino and Peppercorn,” said DeRusha. “These unique finishes were developed specifically to enhance the characteristics and graining of the wood. Similar to the variations and ‘imperfections’ found in soapstone, both finishes deliver a similar textural distinctiveness.”
The Cappuccino finish is a multi-step ivory stain with a charcoal overlay, resulting in a warm caramel/gray finish. The Peppercorn finish is a light gray base with a hand-wiped charcoal overlay that enhances dimensional details. These warm and inviting stains are also available in Antique and Legacy distressing.
