THE COLONY, TX – Eco-friendly Origins™ kitchen cabinets from Armstrong Cabinet Products, a licensed brand of ACProducts, Inc., are featured in the new LivingHome® C6, a modular home with a low environmental impact— and a low price. Starting at $179,000 and designed by LivingHomes®, a developer of sustainably designed, prefabricated homes, the new C6 will debut at the Dwell on Design Conference June 21-23 at the Los Angeles Convention Center

Eco-Friendly LivingHome with Armstrong Origins Cabinets“Renewable resources are important in the kitchen, especially if a homeowner or a business is trying to qualify for LEED or other green building system points. The trend is to move towards green, minimalist and contemporary, especially if it makes sense to the budget,” said ACPI Product Manager Louis Nemeth.

“We use the Armstrong Cabinets Origins line because it is beautiful, extremely functional and affordable and it features healthy, recycled materials," said Steve Glenn, CEO of LivingHomes. "We know of no other cabinets that feature this great combination of design, cost and sustainability. It's perfect for the C6."

Eco-Friendly Options at Value Pricing

Armstrong Cabinets offers different product options that take into account environmental preferences, as well as good design and pricing. Its line of eco-friendly, low-VOC emitting materials provide added choices when building or remodeling a home or buying cabinetry. Origins™ with PureBond®, a urea formaldehyde-free, soy-based adhesive, combines easy installation and maintenance with the durability of Allwood™, Armstrong’s top-tier construction with quality features usually found only in custom cabinetry. The hardwood plywood is derived responsibly from managed forests, and then enhanced with a resin, giving it particularly strong bonding and water-resistance qualities. New Origins ™ Premier™ No Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) particle board construction is a cost-competitive option, whether for multi-family or single-family projects.

The Calibra II™ slab door style, selected for the LivingHome C6, is a tribute to traditional tastes, yet refined for modern living. Its unassuming, effortless beauty is ideal for homeowners who love the look of natural hardwood cabinets but prefer understated wood grain patterns and textures. Calibra II provides outstanding value and contemporary styling for any kitchen. Slightly radiused edges on all four sides of the maple hardwood doors and drawers combined with full overlay cabinetry styling make simple doors elegant.

The C6 is 1,288 square feet, slightly larger than the original C6. It features three bedrooms and two baths and a LEED Platinum level environmental program. LivingHomes consulted with Make It Right in the design of the C6 and a portion of the sale of each C6 is donated to them. The Make It Right Foundation is a non-profit founded by Brad Pitt and William McDonough to redevelop New Orleans' lower 9th Ward that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Pricing and other details about the new C6 will be announced at Dwell. Consumers can get complete information about the C6 and create a Virtual LivingHome C6, with their choice of finishes and fixtures, at www.livinghomes.net.

Dwell on Design is the largest modern design conference in the US. Over 30,000 people are expected over the three day event, which includes speakers (including LivingHomes' CEO) and home tours. The C6 will be located in the middle of the Convention Center and you'll be able to tour it daily! For more information about Dwell click here.
