Feelwood has grown: The remarkably genuine wood look and feel of Feelwood laminates follows the trend towards a natural and authentic quality – also on doors.

Reduction and complexity as the main features of the new EGGER decor and texture highlights.

The expert combination of contrasts, materiality, classically elegant designs, and the grey nuances of the "Glory of Grey" mark the EGGER decor and texture highlights presented at Interzum 2015. Of course, the portfolio continues to include deep, authentic synchronised pore surfaces under the name Feelwood. They are now available on all core materials.

In 2015, the decor and texture innovations of the wood-based materials manufacturers are oriented towards the main trends in society and design. With this year's motto "MatchworX 2.0" of the in-house exhibition EGGERZUM, which links to the previous year's "MatchworX", EGGER presents a wide range, which reaches from industrial chic to classical elegance all the way to lively materiality and cool grey, pierced by blue accents.

The combination of contrasts

Colour, materiality, and classical style directions are the focus of "MatchworX 2.0". The new decors and textures are oriented towards suitable and unique combinations. Klaus Monhoff, Head of Design and Decor Management EGGER Group, on the new collection: "The innovations are oriented towards desired contrasts and their combination. The new uni colour concept is structured so that many of the colours on display can be combined with each other, enabling accents and contrasts of varying degrees to be created. In addition, the combination of unique colours with woods or diverse materials plays an important role." Monhoff also mentions as a key factor in the new collection the expression "reduction of visual loudness": "In a society overloaded with stimulation, customers are asking for a wide selection of products to satisfy their thirst of individuality. However, the surplus offer leads to overload - a counter trend is triggered in the customer, he or she retreats, focuses on reduction. Here, between complexity and reduction, is exactly where our new decors and textures come into play."

Authentic and urban

The collection is marked by two trends: On the one hand, authenticity, which is particularly in demand for wooden decors, and is shown with natural features, such as knots, cracks, brushings and resin inclusions - in particular, surfaces such as the synchronised pore Feelwood play an important role here. In contrast to this is the trend towards urban and modern looks. "These decors are designed so that they also create a certain neutrality." If there are more and more combinations, calming elements are needed", remarks Klaus Monhoff.

The "MatchworX 2.0" decors, reproductions, and surfaces H9031 ST10 Arrowood Steel, H1181 ST37 Feelwood Rift and F651 ST16 Claystone Grey remind one of natural wood, steel or plastered walls. With ST16 Stucco, a new surface texture in a plaster effect, is available as a laminate and as part of the worktop range. Reduced designs are given life with the use of these authentic looks. Classical elegance also celebrates its comeback in the new decors: Elegant wood (H3710 ST9 Natural Carini Walnut), inlays (H9734 ST9 Intarsio Walnut horizontal) and marble (F103 ST70 Palazzo) give life to uniform colour surfaces and reduced shapes, and create a counterpoint to modern design. A technically elegant contrast to natural wooden looks is provided by the current grey shades from "Glory of Grey". They are now tending towards cooler, sometimes lightly coloured variations. Accents using cool blue provide a touch of elegance.

The Feelwood family is complete

Feelwood represents the perfect harmony between look and feel, as well as absolute material resistance. Since February 2015, the EGGER Feelwood family has been complete: Loyal to the matching EGGER decor and materials set, synchronised pore surfaces are now available on all chipboard and MDF boards, Eurolight lightweight boards, compact laminates, and laminates with matching ABS as well as special end grain edging. The look and feel of real wood and its authenticity are available for the first time on all core materials thanks to the new synchronised pore surfaces ST27 Feelwood Elegance, ST28 Feelwood Nature, ST29 Feelwood Ambiance and ST37 Feelwood Rift.
