Duraplay de Parral commissioned Dieffenbacher to supply a new MDF-plant with a capacity of 200,000 m3 per year and an order volume of over 80 million USD. The new plant will be installed in Chihuahua, Mexico. Start-up is scheduled for summer 2015.
Duraplay, with more than 50 years of experience in the market of wood panels, currently produces particleboard, soft and hardwood plywood and panels with decorative surfaces such as TF melamine, paper and veneer. With the new MDF plant, Duraplay will supplement its product line to consolidate its position as manufacturer with the broadest wood panel line in Mexico.
Emilio Ayub, CEO of Duraplay, pointed out: “This investment indicates our confidence in the future growth of our industry. We are very glad to make this announcement especially to our customers. Now, we are able to satisfy all their MDF needs locally and reliably with the high quality service expecting from us. Furthermore, this investment is also great news for our local wood suppliers in order to ensure them the long-term sustainable harvesting of their forest.”
The Dieffenbacher Group is one of leading suppliers for complete wood based panel plants in the world. It will supply the latest technology with the first continuous press line in Mexico for MDF.
Volker Kitzelmann, Managing Director of Dieffenbacher, commented: “We are proud to be awarded for this order from Duraplay de Parral. We expect a great opportunity for MDF in Mexico and we see very positive growth prospects for the Mexican MDF market. This new MDF line is a big responsibility for Dieffenbacher, but also the evidence for the confidence in our products, in our technology and knowhow.”
