TOWSON, Md. – DEWALT® introduces a new solution for contractors who enjoy using their mobile phones to listen to music on and off the jobsite. “During our research, we found that many contractors are utilizing their phones, MP3 players, and other devices to listen to music more than ever before. We also learned that contractors are sometimes reluctant to leave their mobile devices attached to their radios for fear of damage, theft, or missing a call because their phone is out of reach,” says Todd Plajzer, Product Manager, DEWALT. “The DCR002 offers a durable, portable, and versatile solution that overcomes all of these concerns.” The DCR002 Bluetooth Radio Adaptor gives users the ability to turn a radio with a 3 ½ mm auxiliary input into a Bluetooth-compatible radio. Users can now wirelessly stream music from their mobile phone or another Bluetooth-compatible device to their current jobsite radio, while their mobile device is kept safely with them and accessible at all times. The DCR002 Bluetooth Radio Adaptor is compatible with most major brands of jobsite radios that have an auxiliary in port and can also be used beyond the jobsite in vehicles, with home stereos, and any other device with an auxiliary input.
Included with the DCR002 Bluetooth Radio Adaptor are a mounting clip, and two mounting strip options: one industrial Velcro mounting strip and one industrial adhesive mounting strip. The mounting clip provides a temporary yet secure home on the radio, helping to protect the adaptor from damage or from being misplaced while on the jobsite. The industrial Velcro allows for easy mounting and dismounting for use with other devices. The industrial adhesive mounting strip provides a more permanent mounting option.
The DCR002 utilizes a micro USB charging port— the most commonly used charging port in the world for cell phones. A bright LED indicator light flashes red or blue to notify the user of the on/off status, Bluetooth Pairing Mode, Charging, and successful connection to a Bluetooth- compatible device. The heavy duty auxiliary cord on the DCR002 includes strain reliefs on both ends and a right angle auxiliary plug that allows the cord to maintain a low-profile. The length of the adaptor cord is optimized to be compatible with most major jobsite radio brands. The DCR002 has a range of up to 100 ft. and its internal battery can provide up to 8 hours of runtime.
The new DCR002 Bluetooth Radio Adaptor is sold with a mounting dock, 2 adhesive mounting strips, a micro USB to USB charging cable, and USB to AC adaptor. The DCR002 will be available in July wherever DEWALT products are sold for a suggested retail price of $39.99. The unit comes standard with a two-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guarantee. The Bluetooth® word mark is a registered trademark owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any use of such marks by DEWALT is under license.
