East Earl, PA – Reducing indoor air contaminates has become a growing area of interest for many consumers. As a leading custom cabinet door and wood component manufacturer, Conestoga Wood Specialties now offers its customers a formaldehyde-free finish option.
Conestoga Wood has partnered with Sherwin-Williams to introduce a sustainable finish option called DuraPure. DuraPure by Conestoga eliminates concerns of formaldehyde off gassing and provides manufacturers with a new degree of flexibility in meeting environmental regulations and consumer demand for a sustainable finish.
“We no longer have to sacrifice performance or overall appearance to offer a more sustainable product,” says Jeff Eichenseer, Director of Marketing at Conestoga Wood Specialties. “Our customers and homeowners can now have the best of both worlds—quality and a formaldehyde free, environmentally-friendly option.”
Available in Conestoga’s complete palette of wiping stains, Truetones and glazes, DuraPure sealers and topcoats have achieved Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certification through the Greenguard Environmental Institute. The new offering also exceeds KCMA testing requirements and meets the Federal HAPS rule for wood finishes.
DuraPure contains UV inhibitors that slow the impact of UV rays on wood and do not produce strong and offensive odors generated by many traditional conversion varnishes. For more information, please visit http://www.conestogawood.com.
