Jasper, IN – Bill Rubino, President and CEO of Jofco, announced that after more than 40 years at the Jasper-based office furniture company, the time has come for him to retire. Rubino’s last day as a Jofco employee is Friday, March 1.

Rubino began his Jofco career in 1972 doing time studies and quickly moved to Customer Service then Sales. “I had a customer who called me,” said Bill. “And then he kept calling me. One thing led to another and I ended up in Sales.” In April 1988, he became President and CEO of the family-owned company, succeeding his brother-in-law, Joseph Steurer.

As an active member of the office furniture industry, Rubino served as a member and past president of the BIFMA board, including participating on the advisory board to help develop the ANSI/BIFMA furniture emissions standards for indoor air quality.

Earlier this year, Jofco became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jasper Group. With Bill Rubino’s retirement, Mike Elliott will take on the role as President of both companies. Rubino will maintain an intricate part of Jasper Group, continuing as Director of Jasper Seating on the company’s Board of Directors, a position he’s held since 1983. “This is not ‘goodbye,’” Bill tells Jofco, “but more like ‘see you later.’”
