FARMINGDALE, NY -- Amana Tool’s new solid carbide 2D/3D carving tapered ball nose router bit set (#AMS-142) contains three popular mirror finish ZrN-coated router bits ideal for precision small and large-scale carving applications. Constructed of special grade solid carbide, each of the ball nose router bits lasts longer than traditional router bits and delivers superior cutting performance in materials including plastics, solid surface, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, sign foam and board, wood composite and natural wood.

The ZrN-coated bits are ideal for incredibly precise detail work on carvings, sign making, lithophanes and decorative doors created in plastic, aluminum and wood, among other materials. Due to the ZrN coating, the router bits feature longer tool life, high resistance to wear, and increased micro tool hardness. The mirror finish polished flutes allow for effortless chip removal and help prevent chip re-welding. With optimized flute geometry, the router bits deliver clean cuts that essentially eliminate sanding, reduce chatter under high-chip loads, and support high feed rates.

The three-piece ZrN-coated ball nose carving set (#AMS-142; $133.65 USD) includes a 1/16” diameter (item #46282), 1/8” diameter (item #46284) and 1/4” diameter (item #46294) router bit. Applications include signage and 3D millwork, as well as 2D and 3D precision large-scale carving, contouring, profiling modeling and pattern making. The set is specially designed for 2D and 3D CNC profiling and carving with machines such as iCarver, CNC Shark, ShopBot, Datron, CarveWright and CompuCarve woodworking systems, among others.
