Allsteel Sponsors Neocon 2012 Keynote Speaker

CHICAGO, IL –   Continuing what has become a yearly custom since 2000, Allsteel Inc. and IIDA are partnering to sponsor the keynote speaker at NeoCon, Monday, June 11. Former Mayor Richard M. Daley whose leadership helped make Chicago one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the world, headlines this opening event.

“It’s an honor to have a hand in hosting such revered and influential speakers each year at NeoCon,” said Kris Yates, vice president of marketing at Allsteel. “Mayor Daley’s legacy in urban sustainability offers up so many valuable lessons for both current and future development, so his presentation is one that we anticipate will resonate strongly with conference attendees.”

The longest-serving mayor in Chicago’s history with a 22-year tenure, Daley earned an international reputation as a leading innovator in urban development, fiscal policy and government stewardship. He pioneered a model of successful public-private partnerships that established Chicago as the benchmark for long-term sustainable economic urban growth. It was under his administration, as well, that Chicago emerged as a prominent player in the 21st century global economy.

Daley is current chairman of the Global Cities Initiative, speaks internationally on the issue of sustainable urban development, and advises global leaders on building the cities of tomorrow. The opening keynote address with Daley is set for 8 a.m. on June 11th, at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza’s Sauganash Ballroom.

According to Yates, Allsteel, which this year marks its 100th anniversary, will be putting the spotlight on several exciting new workplace solutions. The additions will be featured in its Chicago Merchandise Mart Resource Center, #1120.
