AWI Design Solutions Magazine Released

Potomac Falls, Va. – The Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) has released the spring 2013 edition of their official journal, Design Solutions Magazine. The publication offers in depth features and resources including a technical article and a Product Showcase.

A cornerstone article and technical article are published in each new issue of Design Solutions Magazine. This quarter’s cornerstone article is called “AWI: Your Go-To Source For Technical Assistance” and tells about AWI technical assistance available to help interpret and find answers within the Architectural Woodwork Standards. This issue’s technical article is called “A Century of Laminate” and provides useful tips on using high pressure decorative laminate in projects and specifications.

As always, you can still count on seeing the same beautiful examples of fine architectural woodwork manufactured by AWI Member Companies.

The spring 2013 issue features:

• AWI member company Imperial Woodworking Company of Palatine, IL and their work on the Offices of EIG Global Partners in Houston, TX.

• AWI member company Allegheny Millwork of Lawrence, PA, and their work on the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, Newark Airport in Newark, NJ.

• AWI member company Deas Millwork Co. of Semmes, AL, and their work on the Kitchen Renovation in Mobile, AL.

•AWI member company Huston Millwork of Grimes, IA, and their work on the Iowa State University Bergstrom Football Complex in Des Moines, IA.

Design Professionals seeking AIA credits can rely on the AWI Speakers Bureau to fulfill their learning credits. The AWI Speakers Bureau provides the opportunity for design professionals, woodworking firms, and other industry partners to host speakers who deliver current and relevant information on the standards and practices within the architectural woodwork industry for AIA credits. AWI is the oldest registered continuing education provider of learning units for architects and design professionals.
