AWFS Recognizes 2 Volunteers for Their Dedication and Service

Joan Kemp and Harry "Skip" Hem, were recently presented with Past President Gavels at the recent AWFS®Fair in Las Vegas, Nevada.

AWFS Recognizes 2 Volunteers for Their Dedication and ServiceSkip first became an AWFS volunteer in 1989 and has served a variety of leadership roles, having chaired the Public Policy, Member Services, College of Woodworking Knowledge® and Trade Show Committees. He also served as AWFS president from 2006 - 2007.

"In following Skip and Joan as president of AWFS I know I have big shoes to fill. It's impossible to describe the dedication and hard work they gave to the Association during their tenures. I consider them both dear friends and wish them well. Thank you Skip and Joan," said Wade Gregory, AWFS President.

AWFS Recognizes 2 Volunteers for Their Dedication and ServiceJoan Kemp, Immediate Past President, was the only volunteer in the history of the Association to serve two and a half terms as president, from 2008 - 2012. As a member of the AWFS Board of Directors since 1998, she has also served as vice chair of the Social Events Committee and has chaired the College of Woodworking Knowledge, Member Services and Trade Show Committees and is a current member on the AWFS Board of Directors and Public Policy Committee.
