ACS Hosts Best Practices Group

Marion, IN - Advanced Cabinet Systems (ACS), a manufacturer of Division 12 Plastic Laminate Casework and Retail Store Fixtures, hosted an Architectural Woodworking Institute (AWI) Best Practices Group at their Marion, IN manufacturing facility Thursday July 18 through Friday July 19thAttendees of the quarterly sessions are business owners and executives of casework and millwork facilities around the country. ACS has worked tirelessly in recent months to fulfill their mission statement of, “Keep Calm and Change the Game.” By hosting the AWI Best Practices event, ACS was able to engage other industry executives and work toward finding better ways to advance the entire woodworking industry.

The two day event covered a range of topics relating to the woodworking industry including reporting, administration, estimating, sales, manufacturing, and customer service. ACS hosted a tour of their manufacturing facility Thursday evening. Friday included an overview and introduction of ACS. Once completed, the group discussed and compared each of their company’s processes. Another activity titled, “Fix Something,” included problem solving common issues discussed in the group. “Our goal was to learn more about the industry and develop synergies between the companies for strategic growth and problem solving,” says Phil Bowers, President—ACS. The group had an opportunity to speak about the type of businesses they run, which Bowers says is important. Bowers went on to say that, “Having input from a group of seasoned executives with many years of experience in the industry is imperative to advancing the woodworking industry as a whole. We’re excited to partner with a great organization such as AWI.”
