100 Days After Interzum 2013: Exhibitors Still Euphoric

Koelnmesse has been asking exhibitors for their feedback and has conducted a survey to find out how they assess interzum 100 days after the event. The conclusion: their enthusiasm for interzum 2013 shows no signs of abating. Most exhibitors were particularly positive about the internationality of the trade fair, the high quality and volume of visitors and the successful business they conducted. For them, the next interzum in 2015 is already marked as a definite date in the trade fair calendar.

At interzum 2013, around 53,000 visitors – approx. 70 % of them from abroad – encountered 1,512 exhibitors. Overall visitor figures showed a slight increase and, on the exhibitor side, the world's leading trade fair for suppliers to the furniture industry was able to attract 100 new companies as compared to 2011. These hard facts point to a very successful interzum and have been underpinned by a survey conducted amongst various exhibitors 100 days after the trade fair. The results paint a very consistent picture of an extremely positive outcome. According to Max von Tippelskirch, CMO of the KRONOPLY GmbH / KRONOTEX GmbH & Co. KG group , "The quality and internationality of the visitors were outstanding" – an opinion shared by all the other companies who participated in the survey. Hubert Schwarz, executive director of Blum Deutschland, adds: "The very positive way the event went is proof of just how important this trade fair has become for exhibitors, visitors and media from all over the world. From our talks with customers and partners we know that many visitors were impressed by the huge spectrum of exhibits at interzum."

Lien Sinnesael, Marketing and Communication Coordinator at Bekaert Textiles, emphasises the internationality of the event: "We had more visitors than the previous editions and also had more visitors from different countries."

Even at this early stage, almost all the exhibitors surveyed can already confirm their participation at interzum 2015. Claus Sagel, CEO of Vauth-Sagel, points out the advantage of the two-year cycle: "As a long-standing exhibitor, we see interzum as the most important trade fair for the suppliers' industry and have already marked it as a definite date in 2015. The two-year development rhythm associated with it has become our time base and is very much appreciated by our customers."

The consistently positive feedback is of course also a motivating endorsement for Matthias Pollmann, who has been Project Manager of interzum since early 2012 and has thus played a decisive role in its strategic development. "Due to the first reactions during interzum and the media coverage in trade journals over the last two months, we already had an idea of this very good feedback and are delighted to hear these positive opinions from the various exhibitors in person."

The next interzum will take place from 5th – 8th May 2015
