Edward Hines Lumber to Open Wheaton Location in May

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - Edward Hines Lumber, a subsidiary of US LBM Holdings, announces an agreement to lease the former site of Franklin Emery (F.E.) Wheaton Lumberyard, where they will open a full-service building supply center and showroom, with a Grand Opening slated for May 2013.

The property located at 703 W. Wesley in downtown Wheaton, has been vacant since F.E. Wheaton closed its doors in 2010. The new lumberyard will be managed by former F.E. Wheaton General Manager of 28 years, Pat Briody.

“This new site will benefit the Wheaton area by redeveloping a longstanding property in our community, bring new tax revenue back to the city, as well as offer 20 new employment opportunities,” Briody said. “I am looking forward to servicing local home builders and contractors again from this location.”

Wheaton Mayor Michael Gresk also expressed his enthusiasm for this agreement.

“The addition of Edward Hines Lumber is fantastic both for Wheaton and the surrounding area,” Gresk said. “It’s a perfect fit. That site has been a lumber company since the late 19th century, and now it’s going to return to a new useful life here in our community.”

In addition to providing a full range of lumber and building materials, the Edward Hines Wheaton Location will have a window, door and cabinetry showroom and design center.

Edward Hines also operates building supply centers in Hampshire and Alsip, a Millwork facility in Kirkland, and a Window, Door and Cabinetry showroom in Buffalo Grove.

Founded in 1892, Edward Hines Lumber is headquartered in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The company operates locations servicing home builders and professional remodelers throughout the state of Illinois, lower Wisconsin and Northern Indiana. www.hineslumber.com
