SAN JUAN, PR – The Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America named John Satagaj, its long-time legal counsel, the winner of its 2014 Ralph B. Baldwin Award, the association's top honor. 

Announcement of the award was made by John Schultz, WMMA's president here at WIC 2014, the Woodworking Industry Conference, taking place at the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort outside San Juan. "John Satagaj has shown extraordinary commitment and dedication to our association and our industry over the years," Schultz said.

Satagaj has worked with WMMA as legal counsel and legislative advisor on matters pertaining to the woodworking and manufacturing industry. His regularly published "Washington Report" keeps industry members updated on developments in Washington, DC.

Satagaj, principal of John S. Satagaj, Attorney at Law, specializes in small business, trade association and tax matters. He also founded and was longtime president of the Small Business Legislative Council, an independent coalition of nearly 60 trade and professional associations that share the commitment to the future of small business. 

The Baldwin Award is named for Ralph B. Baldwin, long-time member and past president of WMMA while carrying on his career with Oliver Machinery Company.
