High-gloss is being incorporated into contemporary kitchen and bath design, REHAU says, but not all cabinetry firms can invest in the equipment, such as hot air or laser edgebanding, and special-handling production processes to protect the surface during fabrication.

At this week's Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, REHAU introduced the component offering in its  Rauvisio high-gloss laminate and glass-design surfaces: branded as Brilliant and Crystal. Available in cut-to-size components, Rauvisio enables high-end kitchen and bath design aesthetics at lower cost and no investment in equipment.

Both Brilliant and Crystal products are available in finished, cut-to-size components for cabinet doors and drawer fronts and are produced to order in 13 colors from stock. Rauvisio is heat, moisture and UV-resistant for a surface solution that provides lasting color quality in a seam-free, high-gloss finish.

Rauvisio can also be ordered as individual matching components (laminate, balancing sheet and edgeband) or pressed boards PUR-laminated in a clean room. REHAU says Rauvisio edgebands can be applied using standard edgebanders with traditional adhesive or further processed into LaserEdge, which is applied using the latest laser or hot air edgebanders for a seam-free board.

Rauvisio brilliant-brand high-gloss surfaces have a color-matched acrylic top layer that enhances color vibrancy and is UV resistant. The laminate, balancing sheet and edgeband are exactly matched to each other, to produce a high-quality finished board. REHAU’s innovative LaserEdge adhesive-free edgebanding material is used to produce a seam-free finish between panel surface and edge.

REHAU Enters Doors and Drawers Component Market at KBIS 2015Rauvisio crystal glass-design surfaces look like glass in a lightweight, scratch- and impact-resistant polymer that can be cut and drilled during installation. Fabricated with the laser-compatible Visions Duo-Design edgeband.

At KBIS, REHAU also showed new Vetro Line and Metallic Line Tambour Door Systems. Similarly glossy, the Vetro Line has a glass look with heat-tempered material resistant to breaking and scratching. A pre-configured tambour cassette system requires only a few screws to secure in place.
