NORCROSS, GA – Hera Lighting, following an LED lighting supply partnership deal with cabinetry manufacturer Hans Krug, added over 20,000 square feet of office and warehouse space to its Norcross, GA plant, investing $3 million to bring its operation to more than 36,500 square feet.
Hans Krug, launched by Tony Battah in Charlotte, NC, produces European designed and engineered cabinets at a plant in Slovakia.
Hera is the exclusive lighting provider for Hans Krug kitchens cabinetry. Hans Krug opened a flagship showroom in Charlotte, NC, and says it plans showroom openings for 2014 including Singapore, Manila, Taiwan, Munich, Miami, New York, Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Hans Krug owner Battah says the brand offers the same features and quality of high-end European cabinets such as SieMatic, Poggenpohl, Snaidero and Scavolini, at a fraction of the price. German kitchen designer Michael Schlutter is the product and design manager for the Hans Krug line.
Battah said his international styled cabinets will appeal to urban professionals who relocate into Charlotte, and seeking more contemporary design.
“People who move here from other cities – Miami, Dallas, Chicago, New York – they want a little more of a contemporary look, and there’s nowhere at this price level to find it,” he told the Charlotte Observer.
Hera Lighting designs, develops, and manufactures lighting systems for cabinets, retail displays, and furniture. The corporate headquarters’ location houses 25 employees, a distribution facility, in-house lab, and showroom for a line of display and LED lighting products. The expansion is designed to house more than 50 employees.
“This opening marks an exciting time for our company,” said Hera Lighting president, Christian Bollrath in announcing the expansion. “Hera Lighting has experienced tremendous growth."
The Gwinnett County Chamber Economic Development committee says it supported the expansion, which represents two of five target activities for the area: advanced manufacturing and headquarters locations.
