CompX Sells Furniture Components to Knape & Vogt

DALLAS, TX - CompX International Inc. (NYSE MKT: CIX) announced today that on December 28, 2012 it completed the sale of its furniture components operations based in Kitchener, ON and Taipei, Taiwan, to Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company for approximately $59 million in cash.

In nine months ended September 30, CompX says furniture components accounted for $46.4 million of its  sales of $110.2 million. 

Until the sale, CompX operated from eight locations in the U.S., Canada and Taiwan and employed more than 1,200 people.
