MILAN, ITALY — The 21st edition of Xylexpo NEW, a biennial world exhibition dedicated to woodworking technologies, posted an increase in exhibiting companies in comparison to its 2006 show, with 853 exhibitors attending this year, an all-time record and an increase over the 804 exhibitors in 2006, according to Xylexpo.

While exhibitor figures set records, visitor numbers dropped to 81,980, 12.1% less than in 2006. The reduction equally affected visitors from Italy (39,466 visitors, 12.5% less than in 2006) and from abroad (42,514, 11.4% below the previous event).
