RHO, ITALY – The organizers of Xylexpo, Europe’s biggest woodworking event of the year, say they have signed up 550 exhibitors and more than 127,000 square feet of display space.
In a press release, Xylexpo officials said, "The figures are encouraging. The situation in the wood industry - that the global economic crisis has been influencing strictly - is not stopping applications from exhibitors coming from all over the world."
Xylexpo is scheduled for May 4-8 at the Rho Fairgrounds. Xylexpo speeds the recovery” is the event’s theme.
In addition to being hampered by the global recession, Xylexpo has been stung by Technodomus, an up-start competitive show taking place April 20-24 in Rimini. Among the major companies that are supporting Technodomus instead of Xylexpo include Biesse and SCM Group.
