WEST SACRAMENTO, CA -- The Woodwork Institute, an architectural millwork organization serving Oregon, California, Nevada and Arizona, selected 13 winners as part of its 2005-2006 Bernard B. Barber Jr. Award for Excellence and Ralph B. McClure Craftsmanship Awards program, which honors designers and fabricators, according to interiordesign.net.
Three projects earned the Bernard B. Barber award, which recognizes design professionals for excellence in certified specifications: Beyer, Blinder, & Belle of New York, NY for the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament located in Sacramento, CA; Fentress Bradburn and Associates of Denver, CO for its work on the Sacramento City Hall; and Russell & Davis Architects of San Rafael, CA for its work on Tamalpais Bank in Corte Madera, CA.
The Ralph B. McClure Award is given to fabricators. Recognizing outstanding craftsmanship, this year’s award went to Quality Cabinet & Fixture Co. of San Diego, CA for the 180-foot Mia Elise luxury yacht.
A total of nine firms received Honorable Mentions for the McClure Award: Burnett & Son, North Coast Cabinetry, Mid Canada Millwork, Charles Marpet Fine Woodworking, ISEC and K&Z Cabinet Co.
