Wood pellet plant to add second shift

REDMOND, WA -- Pacific Pellet will begin operating a second shift on Monday to make Douglas fir pellets sold for wood heating.

According to the Bend Bulletin, Pacific Pellet started production this summer at the former Crown Pacific plywood plant. In moving to two shifts, the 20-man operation reportedly will have the capacity to produce about 150 tons of pellets a day. The wood pellets are being sold at stores throughout the state.
