Southern Motion's expansion in Pontotoc, MS (in August it said it would add 200 jobs within two years and 400 jobs in five years) is running ahead of schedule: in January, 135 new employees begin  at the residential furniture maker's newly expanded plant, says the Northeast Mississippi Daily News. Other area furniture plant expansions in 2010: in August, Albany Industries, New Albany, MS, said it planned to add 200 workers at a newly acquired facility in Ripley, MS; Delta Furniture Manufacturing in Pontotoc, MS is investing $1 million to reactivate a shuttered 220,000-square-foot Deville Furniture plant.
