WMS 2009 Moves from October to September

MISSISSAUGA, ON — The biennial Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo (WMS) will be held Sept. 24-26, 2009, at the International Centre in Mississauga, ON.  These dates represent a change from the show’s traditional late October dates. Vance Communications Canada, owners of WMS, moved the show dates for a number of reasons, according to Harry Urban, senior vice president.

“Our new dates in September will give us more flexibility with move-in and move-out for exhibitors,” said Urban. “Also, we will now be able to offer the industry a Thursday through Saturday event, which most of our exhibitors and attendees prefer.”

Vance Communications Canada also owns Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré  (SIBO) 2008, which will be held at Place Forzani in Laval, QUE, Oct. 23-25, 2008. SIBO is Quebec’s only trade show dedicated exclusively to secondary wood products. Vance acquired the events from Reed Exhibitions Canada in December 2006. SIBO is also on a Thursday through Saturday cycle.

Vance Communications Canada is a subsidiary of Vance Publishing Corp., a trade magazine publisher and owner of trade shows for the woodworking industry, including the National Cabinet Conference & Texas Woodworking Show, and the Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo.
