WMC launches Virtual HR Department

OTTAWA, ON – The Wood Manufacturing Council recently launched its new Virtual Human Resource Department (VHRD) tool available to wood products manufacturers and suppliers throughout Canada and the United States.

The VHRD is an online resource designed to assist small and medium-sized companies with their human resource functions. It contains tools, templates and guides that can be downloaded, customized and used on an ongoing basis by the individual company.

The VHRD consists of six modules that cover core HR functions, including: Recruitment and Selection, Employment Policies, Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development, Managing Performance, and Reward and Recognition.

The WMC’s VHRD tool enables the owners and staff of companies to focus more on their core business by spending less time managing HR issues. A one-year full subscription to the VHRD is available for $500 (CAD) and allows employers to download and save information from all sections of the site.

One-year access to individual modules can be purchased for $100 each.

The Training and Development module is available for testing on a complImentary basis. Learn more at wmc-cfb.ca.

Editor's note: The VHRD will be highlighted in a seminar presentation during the Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo, Sept. 24-26, at the International Centre, Mississauga (Toronto), ON.
