SLAVE LAKE, AB - West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. (TSX:WFT) said forest fires that caused substantial damage to Slave Lake, Alberta and the surrounding area forced it to suspend operations at its Slave Lake Pulp and Slave Lake Veneer facilities, though  both escaped damage. During the fire the West Fraser Timber used emergency crews only for staffing.
