Wall Street Journal reports on formaldehyde rulemaking

NEW YORK – The Wall Street Journal brought formaldehyde and the wood products industry into the mainstream business arena Thursday, Oct. 22 through its article, “Kicking Formaldehyde Out of Bed.”


The article noted new legislation introduced last month by Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Mike Crapo (R-ID) that would set limits on indoor formaldehyde emissions. The bill is patterned after the California Air Resource Board’s standard and has the backing of industry and the Sierra Club

Among those interviewed are representatives of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn., Composite Panel Assn. and Columbia Forest Products.
