Vietnam furniture exports going gangbusters
HANOI --  Vietnam's exports of furniture and timber for the first nine months of the year totaled US$2.43 billion, representing an increase of 37.7% over the same period in 2009, according to the nation's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Vietnam Business News reported that Vietnam now has more than 2,500 wood processing businesses, nearly three times more than in 2000. Vietnam is second only to China as the leading source of wood furniture imports in the United States.

VBN noted that Vietnam continues to import a lot of logs - $827 million in the first nine months of this year.
