Veneer Technologies opens Craftsman's Challenge
NEWPORT, NC - Veneer Technologies named the judging panel for the seventh annual  Craftsman’s Challenge, a national design competition that highlights achievement in the use of natural wood veneer products.

Deadline for entry in the contest is June 1.

A $3,000 grand prize prize goes to the creator of the entry; winners in each of six categories win $1,000. Other prizes are awarded to the wood veneer distributor and sales representative.

The trio of industry experts serving as judges for 2011 are Robert Lang, author, professional woodworker and executive editor of Popular Woodworking Magazine; Bill Esler, member of the WoodLINKS USA board of directors and associate publisher for Vance Publishing/Woodworking Network Media Group; and Keith Yow, a member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) Carolinas Chapter and founder of the furniture and cabinetmaking program at Cedar Ridge High School, Hillsborough, NC.
