USGBC Re-launches Greenbuild365 Online Web Portal for Green Building Education

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Green Building Council on June 3 announced it has re-launched its Greenbuild365 Web site

Visitors will find increased educational offerings, podcasts and expanded resources, along with year-round access to plenaries and master speaker presentations from USGBC’s Annual Greenbuild Conference & Expo, the industry’s largest gathering of representatives from all sectors of the green building movement, according to the USGBC.

“The building industry is changing; we are no longer designing and constructing buildings in the same way we have always done,” said Peter Templeton, senior vice president of research & education, USGBC. “The green building movement offers an unprecedented opportunity to respond to the most important challenges of our time, including global climate change, dependence on non-sustainable and expensive sources of energy and threats to human health. The fundamental driving force in the green building movement is the work of innovative building professionals; such leadership is a critical component to achieving USGBC’s mission of a sustainable built environment for all within a generation. Greenbuild365 gives us a platform where that leadership and knowledge from a broad range of disciplines — design, construction, real estate, education and more — can be shared around the globe.”

Support for Greenbuild365 was received from United Technologies.  “UTC is pleased to be the founding sponsor of Greenbuild365, an important tool in raising awareness of just how much can be done to increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption,” said Andrea Doane, UTC director of community affairs and corporate giving.

Greenbuild365.org highlights include:

 • Course Catalog: Third-party-reviewed green building courses featuring USGBC's core LEED offerings, as well as courses approved by the Education Provider Program that extend beyond the LEED green building certification program.

 • Green Bytes: Free, brief “bytes” of green building education consisting of case studies, best practices and information delivered in the form of short videos, podcasts and articles.

 • Greenbuild Conference & Expo Media Library: Videos of Greenbuild keynote speakers — live during Greenbuild and later archived.
