CLEVELAND, OH — Demand for residential kitchen and bathroom countertops is forecast to increase 1.3% annually to 540 million square feet in 2011, according to Residential Kitchen & Bathroom Countertops, a new study from industry market research firm The Freedonia Group. The growth is partially attributed to continued consumer preferences for larger kitchens and more bathrooms. Countertops made from engineered and natural stone will experience the strongest gains. Advances in countertop demand will be stimulated by growth in the remodeling segment, which accounted for 70% of volume sales in 2006.
The 311-page study is available for $4,500 from The Freedonia Group by contacting Corinne Gangloff at (440) 684-9600 or [email protected]. Information may also be obtained at www.freedoniagroup.com.
