Two Plant Tours on Tap for Closets Expo

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The 2008 CLOSETS & HOME ORGANIZATION CONFERENCE & EXPO™ will feature optional bus tours of two local manufacturing operations closely allied to the closet and cabinet industries – Operation 32 and Doormark Inc.

The tours to the two Deerfield Beach plants, including a buffet dinner, are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 29 and are sponsored by Operation 32 and Roseburg.

Operation 32 is a precision cut-to-size manufacturer of build-to-order closet and cabinet components. The company expanded into a newly equipped 10,000-square-foot facility in June 2007. The use of high technology and lean manufacturing allows the company to generate a large volume of product with only nine employees. Key production equipment from Biesse America, including a CNC panel saw, CNC machining center, and straight and countour edgebanders, provides the company the flexibility required to meet customer requests.

Doormark Inc., founded in 1994, is one of the Southeast’s leading producers of thermofoil components and works closely with its suppliers to offer the ability to match woodgrain patterns. The company’s 60,000-square-foot facility employs 75 people and features 10 Heian CNC routing stations, three Wemhoner membrane presses and two fully automated trim lines.

As a major sponsor of the plant tours, Roseburg of Dillard, OR, is also helping to coordinate the buffet dinner at Doormark. Roseburg is a leading manufacturer of composite panels, including particleboard, MDF, melamine panels, FSC-certified hardwood plywood and Skyblend, particleboard/MDF and SkyPly veneer core plywood that contains no added urea formaldehyde.

The plant tour includes round-trip bus transportation departing from the Palm Beach County Convention Center. For registration information, click here.
