Timesavers loans sanders to PSU Wood Technology Dept.

PITTSBURG, KS – Timesavers Inc. of Minneapolis , MN, recently placed a new 2300 Series widebelt sander through a loan agreement within the department of Wood Technology at Pittsburg State University.

This marks the fourth time in the last 22 years that Timesavers has loaned the department a sander.

The 52-inch-wide sander, used for sanding panel stock and hardwoods, has two heads and a platen. The machine, valued around $70,000, will be widely used by students in PSU’s program, from those enrolled in beginner courses to the more advanced students taking courses on furniture manufacturing.

Doug Hague, an instructor in the Wood Technology program, said the continued support from Timesavers is very valuable. “If it weren’t for companies like Timesavers, we wouldn’t be able to provide hands-on training of equipment of this magnitude. The exposure of this technology is a huge benefit to students and the program as a whole.”
