SURINAME – The Suma Lumber Co., with the help of the World Wildlife Fund, is the first wood producer in Suriname to become Forest Stewardship Council certified. The certificate confirms that the company meets the international standard for sustainable forestry. Suma Lumber Co. has been granted approval for the logging of an area of around 70,000 hectares around the Tibiti River in Suriname.
