Steelcase to Close Hospital Furniture Plant in Canada
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Steelcase Inc. said it plans to close down its Waterloo, ON plant, which manufactures seats, tables, desks, cabinets and other products under the Nurture by Steelcase trademark, according to mlive.com. The work will shift to a Tijuana, Mexico plant, where the company is consolidating production of healthcare products.

Steelcase will maintain a sales office in the region, as well as its manufacturing and office facility in Markham, outside of Toronto, which employs about 330 workers.
