Sierra Pine Workers Strike in Martell

SAN DIEGO -  Wood products developer Noble Environmental Technologies (NET) and MDF panel products manufacturer SierraPine announced a research and development partnership to create a next-generation green fiberboard panel. Previewed July 20, 2011 at the AWFS Fair woodworking show in Las Vegas, development will be done at Noble Environmental's based in San Diego and at SierraPine in Sacramento.

"Our alliance with SierraPine allows both companies to advance a next generation, high performance, eco-superior line of panel products," said Noble Envinrmental chairman Robert Noble. The new MDF panel line will use Noble's ECOR environmental composite materials, Noble said, which "can disrupt and advance how panels are made and deliver endless new, design-friendly, non-toxic, 100 percent recycled content products for an infinite variety of market and product needs."

In addition to ECOR, Noble Technologies developed WavCor, FlatCor, HoneyCor and a variety of other non-toxic, 100 percent recycled content and recyclable panel designs for consumer, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.

"We are confident that the combination of our superior MDF and particleboard products with ECOR will provide us with a new range of high performance, eco-superior, design-friendly panel products," said SierraPine VP Chris Leffel. The patented wood products technologies were developed jointly by the U.S.

Privately held SierraPine produces composite wood products, specializing in medium density fiberboard and particleboard. It has annual capacity of nearly 1 billion square feet.
