Sierra Club appoints new executive director
SAN FRANCISCO – The Sierra Club announced the appointment of Michael Brune as its new executive director.

Brune, 38, takes leadership of the organization founded in 1892 by John Muir. He is author of “Coming Clean – Breaking America’s Addiction to Oil and Coal.”

Brune is the Sierra Club’s sixth executive director. He succeeds Carl Pope, who will maintain his 37-year tenure with the club in the role of executive chairman.
