ShopBot Basic Training now available on the West Coast
DURHAM, NC — ShopBot Tools, a designer and manufacturer of CNC cutting machines, announced Jan. 7 that ShopBot Basic Training, a two-day course in part design and operation of a ShopBot CNC system, is now being offered on the West Coast by Ilan Dei of Ilan Dei Studio in Venice Beach, CA. The program includes one day of introduction to ShopBot Control Software and mechanical systems and one day of using PartWorks design software to create ShopBot part files. Classes are held quarterly, and the curriculum coincides with the classes offered monthly at the company’s Durham, NC, headquarters. Students need not be ShopBot owners to attend ShopBot Basic Training classes. More information — including costs — can be found at the ShopBot Training page.

“We offer students an intimate and effective introduction to all of the steps involved in operating a ShopBot,” said Ilan Dei, owner of Ilan Dei Studio and an award-winning furniture, accessories and interior designer. “The class is immersed in a functioning design studio and workshop with more than 20 years of practical experience and knowledge at their finger tips. Each student will be able to experience the machine as well as the process of creating cutting files from start to finish. The classes will cover the same material and learning experiences as the training in Durham but are conveniently located in the highly creative neighborhood of Venice Beach, CA; only 15 minutes from the Los Angeles Airport.”

Ilan Dei Studio is a multi-discipline design studio and workshop. The company has been using its multiple ShopBot machines daily for more than 10 years producing everything from furniture, signs and cabinets to sculptures, structures and complete interiors.
