SCM GROUP USA restructures, creates new positions
DULUTH, GA

— Effective October 1, SCM GROUP USA changed its company structure and created three new divisions to help classify its machines into different areas of woodworking applications and production.

The new Housing Division focuses on equipment for manufacturing solid structure housing components, such as cabinetry, windows, doors, mouldings and beams. The Furniture Division covers component manufacturing, including cabinet doors, mouldings, home furniture and closets. The Premium Division covers SCMI’s line of machinery for shops and small-to-medium production rates, including SCMI jointers, planers and sliding table saws, Sandya Series sanders, Pratix CNC routers, Sigma panel saws and Olimpic edgebanders.

In conjunction with the new structure, the company announced several personnel changes. Rob Howell was promoted to the newly created position of West Coast Sales Director and manages sales and distribution activity for the western United States.

Karl Frey is now VP Sales for the new Housing and Furniture Divisions.

Steve McGhee was named Regional Manager for the Southeast; Sergio Castro now manages the sales of CNC machining centers and CNC routers; Mike Fogel manages all widebelt sander sales, and Michael Kahn is Product Manager for classical line machinery.

The company says it implemented these changes in an effort to streamline marketing and sales activities.
