DULUTH, GA — SCM Group North America has announced it will not be attending IWF 2010 in Atlanta. The company has attended this event since its inception.
In a press release, the company said, “As SCM Group regrets having to take these measures, this decision is made with the future of SCM Group and their customers in mind.”
The company’s allocated savings from not attending IWF 2010 “will be used in a productive manner by increasing quality in the parts, service and technical support departments,” the release said. Additionally, SCM Group said it will also remodel and expand its current showroom in order to accommodate more specialized demonstrations and events.
SCM Group said it would still continue to attend a number of industry events, including AWI, WIC and Technodomus in Italy. The company will also host events at dealer/distributor facilities across the country, as well as SCM Group headquarters in Duluth, GA.
SCM becomes the fifth major woodworking machinery company to bow out of IWF 2010 in the past week, following announcements by Weinig, Stiles, Delmac and Biesse.
